Similarly to 1-dodecanethiol, this compound forms virtually identical SAMs. It should be noted however that disulfides assemble at a slower rate than thiols in competitive adsorption experiments (A. Ulman, Chem. Rev. 1996, 96, 1533; L. H. Dubois, et al., Annu. Rev. Phys. Chem. 1992, 43, 437).
