Description

This compound has been used to pattern biological ligands onto surfaces via an intermediate, such as an active ester.

Lahiri et al. converted the carboxylic acids to activated pentafluorophenyl ester groups; these esters have a reactivity ~10 times greater than N-hydroxysuccinimidyl esters (J. Lahiri, et al., Langmuir 1999, 15, 2055).
